his time-tested route features some of the best country roads between Stillwater and Afton. It offers a relatively flat start and finish, with a few short hills and a couple long climbs in between. Of course, these climbs reward us with some very sweet descents! Since its inception in 1998, the Acapulco Ride has offered participants the opportunity to learn and practice proper (and safe) group riding skills. In addition, correct paceline etiquette for those so inclined. (Participation in any paceline that may form is optional, of course). As always, we roll out at an easy warm-up pace for the first three miles. Regrouping at the top of the longer climbs is strongly encouraged. No guarantee offered here, but most of the time the main group will wait up for a couple of minutes or so. Two or three groups of varying abilities tend to form on this ride. Therefore, if you are at all hesitant I encourage you to come try it out. You will likely fit right in somewhere!
Stay for the festivities afterward with dinner and refreshments in the cantina or on the patio if weather permits.
Rain may cause cancellation at the leader's discretion.
